LEGAL
REMEDIES
Depending upon the state in which you reside, you may have additional legal
remedies available under the applicable Commercial Code or Consumer Warranty
laws.
WARNING
Your guitar is constructed from solid wood that was carefully dried and
seasoned. Solid wood will soak up moisture in wet climates and give off moisture
in dry climates. If you live in a desert, high mountain, or cold winter region,
you will experience dry weather from time to time that could crack your guitar.
If not properly taken care of, your guitar will crack. This damage is very
serious, but can easily be prevented by storing your guitar in its hardshell
case and by using a soundhole humidifier. If you are unsure about the use of a
humidifier, please contact our Service Department for a more detailed
explanation.
STORAGE
To help maintain your guitar within factory specs, always store it in its case,
and avoid prolonged exposure to low relative humidity (50 percent is optimal).
Use a sound humidifier during temporary periods of low humidity to prevent
drying-out and cracking, which can result in costly repairs. Waxing. Use a
non-abrasive carnauba wax or a brand-name polish to rub out minor scratches and
to preserve the high-gloss finish on your guitar. Do not use any type of wax or
polish on the satin finish of a 300 or 400 Series model, or damage could result.
Instead, wipe the guitar with a clean, slightly damp cloth, followed by a clean,
dry one.
INSTALLING A
STRAP BUTTON
On the heel of the guitar neck, center the strap button on the treble side curve
(two inches down from the bottom of the fretboard on Grand Auditoriums,
Dreadnoughts, and Jumbos; 1-1/2 inches down on Grand Concerts). An illustrated
Tech-Sheet is available on request. (Warning: Improper installation can result
in irreparable damage to the neck!)
CHANGING
STRING HEIGHT ("ACTION")
First, make sure the neck is correctly adjusted, because that directly affects
the "action" (see "Truss Rod Adjustment" Tech-Sheet). Next,
adjust the action by either lowering or raising it at the bridge saddle.
